Find me, Fool
October 11th -15th I Tues-Fri: 7pm/9pm Sat: 3pm/7pm/9pm
Fieldworks, Hackney, E8 3PE
In a world where we are questioning if we are too queer, or if we are queer enough; where we only see ourselves represented as pure glamour or utter tragedy - come to our place for a cuppa, come join us for a dance, and get lost in a home where we are the Lovers and the Devil, the Sun and the Moon, where we are the World – complete, connected, celebrated.
FIND ME, FOOL is a site-specific journey through a home: a home of queer folk, a home of chosen family, a home watched over by the figures of the tarot. Enter a world where the tarot deck comes to life in daily queer experience - where the Lovers look over first touches of new romance; where Death is called as a prom dress is laid to rest; where the devastation of the Tower glares over family dinners that we scream through together; and where The Star shines from within as we wash away our doubts in the bath.
FIND ME, FOOL has been created by the ensemble, using movement, poetry, verbatim text and imagery. Like the tarot deck, it is an experience of symbols, emotions and reflections - each room is a glimpse into a life, with the journey from place to place echoing our journeys of self discovery.
Each night there is a 7pm and 9pm performance, and in-between these shows we invite LGBTQIA+ audiences to an 8pm workshop: a space to meet, talk and create together, and a taster into the world of tarot and how it can be used for inspiration and reflection. The workshops are free to attend, but you do need to book a ticket.
Our workshops are an explicitly queer social space. We know that some of our queer audiences may wish to bring along an ally friend for support. However, we ask that allies remember that they are guests in our space and ask them to remain mindful of how much space they take up.

Find me, Fool is a promenade performance. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has a disabled bathroom. Some seating will be available at ‘stops’ on the route, for those less able to stand. Audience members will be able to leave and return to the performance at any point; there is access to a private outdoor area which can be used as a breakout space. For d/Deaf audiences, we will provide written caption sheets for scenes involving dialogue. There is a full audio description that can be listened to in advance of the show HERE.
If you are concerned about your access needs being met, please get in touch at email@example.com. We are a small, dedicated team who want to make our performances as accessible as possible; advanced notice about your specific needs will help us to do our best to support these.
This show explores discovering queer identity, and we know that on our queer journeys there have been moments of feeling like we might not belong because we feel too little or too much of something. If you would like to come to the show but are nervous to come on your own, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to get matched up with a buddy who will message you before the show and arrange to come with you.
Our buddies are friends of the show and members of the queer community. If this is your first time coming to a queer event, or you're just feeling a bit shy to come alone - then buddy up!
We are grateful for the support of Arts Council England, Jacksons Lane, Fieldworks, She's Lost Control and Raze Collective.
